The American Diabetes Association® (ADA) is excited to have Paul Engola, Leidos’ Chief Human Resources Officer & Head of Business Partnerships, as the honorary chair for this year's Virtual Northern Virginia (NOVA) Tour de Cure to be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020. The ADA encourages everyone to cycle, run or walk on that date in support of the 34 million Americans living with diabetes. Leidos is a strong supporter of the ADA, leading the way with a National Tour de Cure team participating in cities all across the country. The ADA is proud to have Paul lend his name to raise awareness about the diabetes epidemic.
“As this year’s Virtual NOVA Tour de Cure Executive Chairman, I look forward to rallying my Leidos colleagues, and all Northern Virginians, to come together to educate our community about diabetes prevention and management, and how to live a healthier, more active lifestyle,” said Engola. “This disease impacts far too many people on both a personal and societal level. It’s important for us to join together, leverage our efforts, and drive action that will help advance the pace of progress in the fight against diabetes.”
“We thank Leidos for their continued support and participation in our events across the U.S. We are also grateful that Mr. Engola is lending his voice to raise awareness and urgency as we move to bend the curve of the diabetes epidemic,” said Titilayo Ogunmakinwa, Executive Director of the American Diabetes Association D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia region. “Now more than ever, we need influential people to accept the charge as Paul has done.”
The Virtual NOVA Tour de Cure is a fundraising and community awareness event to support research, advocacy and improving the lives of those living with diabetes. Visit www.diabetes.org/novatourdecure to sign-up and get involved!
